Why did you start this website?
As a small business we realized the importance of good PR, but couldn’t find a cost-effective and useful way to get our message out. We had tried the news wires and found little success. We realized people in our local community were interested in what we were doing, however.
How are you planning to market it?
Right now we are looking for three types of clients:
1. Organizations/non-profits: They benefit by creating a media room web site to publish press releases, events, etc.
2. Group leaders: They start group wire sites, like our Chamber of Commerce, and invite their members to submit news and events to a community web site.
3. PR firms: Manage media content for their clients through MyMediaRoom.
Why is it different than your competitors?
MyMediaRoom is a platform. We give our audiences the tools to enable better and faster communication within their community. We are also very niche oriented by nature, focusing on developing community web sites very locally and expanding that way.
