5 Things to Keep in Mind when Designing a Landing Page

Landing_PageIn simple terms, a landing page is where you want to get the attention of the visitor and capture the lead. When it comes to internet marketing, this is one of the most important pages where you will be directing your traffic to capture the lead. In other words, this is the page that will convince the user to make a purchase or to register for a service. Some also use a landing page as a reference page to present relevant information to the user.

Here are few things you should keep in mind when designing a landing page.

Work on the headlines

This should be like the title on a news paper that you can’t resist but at least read the first paragraph to see what it says. Your title should be consistent with the page/advertisement that drove the visitor to this landing page. Consistency is very important.

Get the Important points across fast

In many cases, you will only have a few seconds to convince the reader. So make sure your pitch is right there on the top. You need to catch their attention and give them the goodies. Highlight the most important points and make the readers eye go to the most important information.

Stick to One Objective

Make sure your landing page does not contain multiple objectives with the visitors that come to the page. Like I said, it must be consistent and it must only ask the user to do one thing.

Loading Time

Make sure your page loads extremely fast and that the page is always up. Your landing page must load quickly and allow the user to focus on the important point. If you are paying to drive traffic to the landing page, and if your landing page takes long time to load, you are missing out on capturing good leads.

Test Your Page

In one of my previous posts, “Testing is Crucial to Maximize your Revenue”, I’ve emphasized on the importance of testing. You must test your page over and over again. Test many times until you feel that your rate of return exceeds the expense of driving the users to the landing page.

Interesting article and great if you have one objective, trying to think through a landing page to multiple businesses and struggling to make it make sense. maybe i need several landing pages?
